the aged (Old Age), disability, and children’s Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant (R370) of R370, and the information pertaining to the recipients is to be provided.
November 2025 Payment Dates
The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has released the following payments schedule; Old Age Pension: Tuesday, November 4, 2025. Disability Grant: Wednesday, November 5, 2025. Children’s Grants (Child Support Grant, Foster Child Grant, Care Dependency, and other children’s grants): Thursday, November 6, 2025. SRD Grant (R370): Payment is likely between November 25 and 30, 2025, at the end of the month.
Why are the Dates Different?
SASSA has chosen to issue all the different grants in a staggered manner every month for a certain reason. The elders will be the first ones to get their pension (1st of the month) — this is not only a plus for the old but also fewer people at the payment points. The disabled take the second position, and then the rest of the children’s grants come next. End of the month sees the last batch of R370 SRD grant processed in-house as applications are invariably under review and payments are done individually after the approval.
The Grant Amounts (November Correspondence)
The amounts inclusive of the large grants mentioned earlier were set up as follows:
- Elderly people: R 2,315 for the age group of 60 to 74 years and R 2,335 for those age 75 years and older.
- R 2,315 was designated for the Disability Grant.
- R 560 (+ a top-up as per the circumstances) was designated for the Child Support Grant.
- SRD Grant was fixed at R 370.
What Are the Tips for Being Prepared
The easiest way to get your grant without any problems is:
- Check your payment method: Are your bank account details, SASSA card, or payout option updated? Incorrect information will cause a delay.
- Know your date: If you are receiving the Older Persons, Disability or Children’s Grant, you will get paid on the early-month date mentioned. In case of SRD, you will need to check your status for the exact date in November.
- Don’t be in a hurry to cash the withdrawal: The money will still be available after the date; you don’t have to be the first one to withdraw at the ATM on Day 1.
- Precaution: Do not be careless and do not make large cash withdrawals; always use PINs and keep card information confidential. SASSA and the South African Police Service, among others, advise more precautions on payment days.
- Check your online status: This is crucial for SRD applicants — your payment date could change depending on your approval.
- Grants connected: If you receive multiple grants (like Foster Child + Older Persons), the payments may be made per the primary grant’s schedule.
